As a small business, we were interested in continuing to grow and knew we needed expert help in improving our efficiency to help more clients. After an incredible Discovery and Mind Mapping session where Connected Consulting mapped out our operational process with us, our team had a spark of ideas and excitement on how to improve our processes. We brought Connected Consulting on to help us write useful SOPs for our team, and they worked side by side with us to implement these new processes.

CBG Internship Program – Spring 2025

The Critical Business Group internship program welcomed three talented students from Florida State University for our Spring cycle, including two newcomers and one returning intern.

Now a senior at Florida State University, Caterina Cappelli is a dual major in Economics and International Affairs with a minor in Public Administration. Caterina is involved in Greek life and has gained leadership experience through her internship at Tel Aviv University and work with innovateTLH and Impact Week TLH.

Travis Pavel is a Business Management major from Orlando, FL. As Entrepreneurship has been a continuous passion of his, Travis has plans to pursue a career in hashtag#Business Development after receiving his Master’s in Business Administration. “My entrepreneurial mindset pushes me to seek opportunities that inspire growth, solve problems, and build collaborative teams that excel under pressure.”

Li Su, a former Division 1 college golfer, has extensive experience in growth strategy, athlete management, and business analysis across various professional sports leagues. A current graduate assistant and Master’s student in Sport Management at FSU, Li specializes in leveraging data and insights to create compelling experiences that strengthen brand exposure and partner relationships.

Looking forward to the spring, our team is excited to see what this special group of interns bring to the table!

Clutch your coffee and head up the stairs from La Florida Coffee & Wine — Yes, all the way up. Then, look into the glass enveloping the meeting room to the left. Inside, you’ll see three interns, two businessmen, and one idea linking them all.

Critical Business Group has hit the ground running in 2024, with new goals to achieve, new people to get acquainted with, and new business opportunities to pursue. Based in the heart of Tallahassee, Critical is a consulting company and tech firm with an emphasis on the local business community.

Aside from helping a myriad of Small and Medium enterprises in the Florida Panhandle through its consulting arm, one of Critical’s other biggest successes has been to provide many cycles of FSU students with their first real foray into the business world through a competitive and immersive internship program. Every spring, summer, and fall, CEO Rich Smith searches for a select few students to join his team. This time around, three were ultimately selected to both work for and represent the firm.

They’ve been working hard.

Taking point on content creation and market research, Maximo Fernandez has been able to synthesize his passion for writing with a desire to learn about the business world. “I’ve never done any sort of business or marketing; never had an idea of what consulting even was when I first started. CBG has given me an opportunity to learn these important skills and make a positive impact on my community while utilizing my strengths in the humanities!”

Andres L Fernandez (no relation) has brought his A-game and jumped swiftly into Critical’s consulting operations. “I have always been so excited to get my foot in the door of the business consulting world and do some hands-on work! Critical is allowing me to accomplish this through their internship program, and I cannot wait to see how much I grow as a person and businessman because of it.”

Enamored with the fluid work environment, Giuliana Sarcone is leading the expansion of the OneLink for Everything! Ambassador program, in addition to being involved with the Interview Series and Impact Week preparations. “I enjoy how this internship provides us with the opportunity to focus on where each of our strengths lie in order to better serve the wider community that Critical Business Group works with. As a creative person, I’ve already felt so fulfilled by this experience and am excited for what’s ahead!”

Finally, at the helm of the intern team is Noah Kalter, a former intern himself turned employee. He is energized and ready to work with the new interns on Critical’s important projects. “It’s always a pleasure to work alongside new and creative minds! Just as I took my first steps into the real world of business through this program, so too will our interns be able to jumpstart their professional careers through Critical.”

You might wonder why embark on such an ambitious endeavor. This challenge is about exploring new horizons, nurturing connections, and delving deeper into the realms of collaboration and learning.

For me, networking is beyond just accumulating contacts or increasing follower counts. It’s about fostering relationships, exchanging insights, and exploring fresh perspectives. Each meeting presents an opportunity for growth, whether it’s learning from experiences, exchanging innovative ideas, or exploring potential collaborations.

Throughout this journey, my goal is to engage with a diverse range of individuals—professionals, entrepreneurs, thought leaders, and creatives—across various industries. These interactions aren’t merely for my benefit; they’re about mutual sharing, support, and the potential to create something extraordinary together.

How will I manage this feat? It’s a blend of meticulous scheduling, efficient time management, and an earnest desire to learn from every conversation. I plan to delve into varied topics, discuss challenges, seek guidance, and offer insights wherever possible.
